A few winters ago there was some water that managed to get into the basement above the door, making it start to mold and it was very unappealing. These updates were very overdue…
Starting with removing the old sheetrock and insulation:
I was able to find enough scrap sheetrock (leftover from a project probably 8 years ago) to redo all that was removed. After installation I applied a coat of mud, sanded the next day, followed my a second coat of mud and more sanding in the following days:
Finished all of it off with a fresh coat of paint leftover from 8 years ago when the left side wall was painted:
